Orthopaedic patients in our regional areas can access the expertise of specialists at Nepean Hospital via video link without interrupting their recovery at other hospitals or in their homes.

Patients being treated for Tuberculosis (TB) require daily monitoring which previously meant a trip to a clinic, now a TB nurse checks on patients daily via a video link, helping patients continue their lives without interruption.

A smart phone app for patients receiving home dialysis is helping them feel connected to clinicians. Patients simply select the emoji which best represents their feeling after a dialysis session at home. In pilot studies, the app was shown to give clinicians a real time and accurate indicator of the patient’s condition and if follow up calls or visits were needed.
